Tropical Beach Sea Life Hawaii Girls Modern Quilt Coastal Baby Shower Gift Toddler Birthday Throw Quilt

This is a one of a kind Tropical Beach baby girls quilt that I handmade and quilted. There are a mixture of Bird of Paradise Flowers, Sea Turtle, Ocean Wave, Hanalei Bay Beach, Humpback Whale, Seahorse, and Polihale Beach scenes designed by Ann Jensen of Hawaii Ana Quilt. They are sashed with white Kona cotton to give it the modern quilt look and to make the colors pop! I chose colorful Island Batiks fabrics to highlight the tropical designs. I added top and bottom borders made from Northcott Fabrics Whale Song green and blue ocean bubbles, as well as a gorgeous Turquoise water from Artisan Batiks Molted Tropical Prisma Dyes. For the back of the quilt I used a blue Island Batik leaves fabric. I used Quilter's Dream Angel batting. I quilted everything with the "quilt as you go" technique. I made the outside binding from the same Northcott Fabrics Whale Song green and blue water bubbles, and it was stitched by machine. The finished quilt measures 33" x 43". It is perfect for a Baby Shower since the quilt fits a crib. It's also perfect for a young girls birthday as it would be a sweet throw quilt for her.
