This quilt pattern by Diane McGregor of Castilleja Cotton is called "Turtles Swimming Away". It has nine sea turtles done in three different sizes. The ocean background is made up of ten different fabrics cut from quarter yards. It reminds me of when the turtles hatch on the beach and they swim out together! The directions call for using pieced and fusible applique techniques. This is a digital .pdf quilt pattern and instructions, and you will be able to download and print the pattern file as soon as your purchase is complete.

The panel size will be 36" x 60", and when the inner and outer borders are added it will measure 51" x 72". This is the perfect size for a lap quilt! By shrinking or enlarging the pattern, you could make all kinds of things, including an artistic wall display, table runner or placemats, etc. Batik fabrics give a beautiful tropical look while adding depth, but you can use any favorite fabric to make this design.
