This listing is for a quilt pattern and instructions for the Wave at Pipeline. The instructions will also include a list of required fabric yardage that you need to supply. This is an awesome design for someone who loves surfing; the bigger the wave, the better!! The Pipeline is known as the most dangerous wave in the world.
The directions call for needle-turn applique' (pieced hand quilting), but you can also use fusing to iron the fabric in place and machine stitch edges if you prefer. This art pattern by Ann Jensen is designed to have a finished measurement of 18" x 18". You can make a pillow, place mat, table runner, towel applique, or wall hanging. You can reduce the pattern at a print shop and make a tote bag, apron, etc. You can also enlarge it to make a baby quilt or up to 42" x 42" quilt, etc. The ideas are unlimited!
This pattern calls for seven (7) different watercolor batik fabrics. Of course, you can use any type of fabric in your design. You don't have to use batiks, but they add a very tropical feel to your creation! The pattern includes directions for finishing the back side if you are making a pillowcase. This picture shows the inner quilt design, but there is also a 4" border fabric that is to be sewn around the edges to make it a finished size of 18" x 18". You can have fun choosing different fabrics and creating very different looks. You are sure to be pleased with your finished pictorial quilt!!
