Boys Handmade Coastal Shark Under Sea Beach Reversible Baby Quilt Crib Toddler Lap Throw

This is a beautiful handmade quilt with an Under the Sea and shark as the main focus! It's a nice size for a baby crib quilt and play mat, toddler lap quilt, kids coastal wall decor. It measures 33.5" x 41". For the center of the quilt, I chose a Deep Blue Sea fabric with ocean water, octopus, star fish, coral, seahorse, crab, sand dollars, sea grass, and all kinds of shells. I then printed, cut and machine appliqued the large shark over the ocean scene. This is a picture of a real Bull Shark that Shane Myers Photography took underwater in Fiji! Kids absolutely love it! Next I added a navy blue painterly quilt fabric with purple accents along the two sides. I also included an orange painterly fabric flange to give added pop to the colors. I then added a light blue fabric w/ darker blue painterly highlights as the two side borders. For the back side and quilt binding, I used Northcott Fabrics Ombre Blue Stripes from their Palm Beach collection. I had it transition from light blues at the top of the quilt, down to navy blue at the bottom, to match the front design and how the ocean gets darker the deeper you go. I designed the binding to match that same ombre transition on the front! I had Award-winning Master Quilter Lynne Haley of Sapphire Quilting quilted it with a modern waves design to give a beautiful finish. This is a one-of-a-kind quilt that no one else will have.
